Remain With Mary

Thank you for visiting Remain With Mary! I am so glad you are here.

My name is Maria and I am a convert to the faith. My baptism day as a young adult was the best day of my life. I am a believer, a wife, and a mom of one young adult and two teens. I was born in Japan but now call Oregon my home. I have worked as a Montessori Elementary teacher and a simultaneous interpreter in the past, but now country life takes much of my time. I have led and participated in Catholic Charismatic groups, moms groups, and ENDOW.

As an introvert, I have been content to live in my Catholic bubble in my corner of the world for 30 years since my conversion. Over the last several years, I was plunged into a deep well when my teens abandoned their faith and stopped talking to me. It came at a time when my husband’s commute went from 10 minutes to an hour and half, and his father’s medical condition required hours of care and support.

Unexpectedly, I was joined by Our Lady of Sorrows in this journey of waiting and praying. I felt the Spirit guiding me when desperation humbled me. Since then loneliness no longer surrounds me as I learned practical ways to cope with the new challenges.  Fast forward after five years of trial and error, a renewed peace is growing in our family.

I am still in the journey until my children open their hearts to the Lord and this may not happen while I am here.  Yet God has done great things for us and I trust He will do so for you too. It is my prayer that you find some solace, comfort, and inspiration in your journey while you are here.

This website is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows as she has been a great consolation to me. I hope that this place can be a place of respite from this confusing world, connection with those in the same journey, and a springboard for strengthening our Faith.
